A consulting service offered to clients to evaluate site conditions and determine the best way forward to develop a solution. A site water plan could include:
Identification of water consuming activities
Identification of wastewater generating activities
A mass/water balance over the site
Effluent/Water characterisation
Evaluation of potential of reducing water consuming/effluent generating activities
An order of magnitude cost estimate for the recommended solution
Identify compliance requirements
Conceptual Design Packages
A conceptual design involves taking the selected technology through process design and will include:
The sizing of major equipment
Development of a Process Flow Diagram (PFD)
A basic site layout
A mass balance and final discharge quality
Improving the accuracy of the OOM costing to a budget level. Costing of major equipment (±20%)
Detailed Design Packages
A detailed design package takes the project to the point that it is Approved For Construction (AFC). Deliverables for a detailed design package include:
Conducting developmental work for clients has been identified to drive innovation. It also provides clients with a level of comfort and confidence in designs that are based actual results. Conducting this type of work also allow PuraPlan to develop the relationship with the client.
Bio-Methane Potential (BMP) analysis
Lab trials
Pilot trials
Project Installation service to Equipment Suppliers
Turnkey project installation services will be provided to equipment suppliers targeting clients that require turnkey installations. PuraPlan will act as a sub-contractor to the equipment supplier and not be the principle contractor.
Feasibility Studies
Feasibility studies will evaluate the economic and technical merits of specific projects. Activities will include:
Technology selection and evaluation
Development of Order Of Magnitude (OOM) cost estimates for selected technologies (±25%)
High level financial justification based on the capital and operating cost of a technology
Recommendation of the preferred solution based on technology, capital, operating costs and payback period
Basic Design Packages
A basic design package is typicallythe last design phase before capital is approved and is spent. The basic design package includes a higher level of engineering detail required for project planning and execution. The basic design package will include:
Piping and Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID)
Process description
Site layout
Equipment list
Electrical demand/Motor list
Instrument list
Chemical and Utility demand schedule
Major equipment specifications
Civil Bill of Quantities
Project program
Project costing (±10%)
Project Management Services
Project management services are provided during the execution phase of the project and can be offered as part of an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contract or as part of an open book contract. Project management services will include:
Project management
Site supervision
Procurement services
Project administration
Quality control
Budget tracking
Project program tracking
Commissioning services
Operator training
Process validation and handover
Equipment Fabrication
One of the largest expenses associated with working in Africa or even locally is the cost of installation for equipment supplied. By fabricating specialised pieces of equipment and skid mounting them to reduce the installation time to a minimum substantial savings can be realised. PuraPlan has identified several systems which can skid mounted and sold competitively against systems that need to be built up on site.
Systems that have been identified include:
Thermal yeast autolysis plants
pH correction units
Lamella plate settlers
Turnkey Supply (Principal Contractor)
Turnkey project installation services will be provided to clients that require turnkey installations.
